Meet the Parents:

Here are Barbara and James Best (JB). They met on a blind date back in the 1960′s. He was an Air Force lieutenant colonel and she was a aspiring stage actress. They had both been married before, J.B. to Fortunae, a french woman and Barbara was married to Bob, a playwright/party boy. (He still is, rumor has it…) J.B. came into the relationship with Me-Cat (I think she was a Siamese) and Barbara came into the relationship with Vanessa, a 3 year old. (My half sister) . J.B. was one of the most eligible bachelors of his group, complete with a car phone. (How very “Austin Powers, groovy, baby!) And, Barbara was famous within the theatre community. They met, and after a 6 month courtship they were married. There are no wedding photos… it’s weird. I need to ask. I need to ask a lot more, actually- because I know my mom and sister lived in an apartment with 13 beagles when they met, too. Where did they go? Interview time with the parents. Well, for now I will move on, because the life I know most about is this one:
Yep, that’s how ya brought your baby home from the hospital in the 70′s. On your lap in the front seat. Crazy, huh? That’s little Michelle- named after Michelle Phillips of ” The Mamas and the Papas”. Jennifer was super popular then, after the movie “Love Story” . If I were a boy, I would have been named Christopher. But, then you probably wouldn’t be reading this- “The Domestic Papa” sounds kinda…weird. So here I am all bundled up. All 5lbs of me and 5lbs of blanket. Apparently, when I decided to come into the world, I was on time, but then changed my mind mid way through. Everything stopped. Induction time. Sorry, Mama. Did I tell you that nobody wanted my mom to have me? Yep, she was too old (37) and already had two girls. One with Bob, and one with James. But… she really wanted a third. I’m really glad about that. Thanks, Mama. She had a lot of problems during her pregnancy, and I was almost “not” several times. But, I made it. Woohoo. OK, I’ll be honest here- I don’t remember a bit of this. This is just what I was told. I could have hatched from a giant egg left from a spaceship-but more than likely, this story is how I came about.
Here I am. Two days old, being brought home sometime around March 2nd or 3rd to a house that is now the house next door to my home now. That tree is still there, although it’s 35 (almost) years bigger. Now y’all know a little bit. It will get really interesting the older I get. Right now, I just pooped, peed and cried. Just wait till I can walk!
